Might want to look into Hughs Whiplash cam. They are made for a low comp motor. I have one that has maybe 100 miles on it. Ran it in my 78 440 until the bottom of the oil pan met the top of a man hole cover less than a block from my house. I got the OK from the wife to "fix it right" so I'm putting a stroker kit in this time. I loved the sound and it ran great. Get on it just a bit and you're spinning the tires. Would be willing to part with the cam and lifter (marked for where they go on the cam) as I don't have any other compete 440s that I would do another low comp build with.
