Starting a BB Duster project

-
Picked up some floor mats with the Duster script done up in B5 Blue. I haven't decided on carpet yet but I liked the floor mats so I grabbed them. I'll probably have carpet put in the car eventually since I'm sure it is going to be super obnoxious to drive

Wish there was a "love it" button. That sounds awesome, and didn't seem too bad inside at all... again, at idle. lol

Yes, an old rusted out '61 Chevy truck with a 455 tri-power Pontiac under the hood.

That cool as all heck. Some of the early GMC trucks came right off the assembly line with the 389 single four engine. I've more than a couple. Completely original.

Got the dash back from the local body shop. The manager there took some extra time and mixed up a batch of B5 suede paint for the dash. He said he had to find a special powder that gives the paint the suede texture. I think it came out looking great.

I found what appears to be a NOS dash pad on craigslist so I bought it. Guy wanted $140 for it which seemed fair to me. It seems to be a brand new unit that has been sitting in storage for the past 40 years. The dash pad that I had on the car looked good but it was a blue one which someone had painted black. It looked nice from 10 feet away but up close it didn't look all that great. The new one I got appears to be perfect even up close.

Windshield is back in now and the wiring is finished up so now I can hit the streets.

Wish we were closer , I`d like to run you , to see how much better ur stuff is than mine . My stuff doesn`t meet my expectations !----------

It will have an easy 10.XX timeslip if the converter and suspension are anywhere near close to the power of engine. I would think so anyways....

I don't really know what the car will run. This car ran 10.90s back when it was a street car. Back then it had street tires, full exhaust, full interior, etc. So it was at least a couple hundred pounds heavier than it is now. I think the fastest it went was 10.90 at 122 mph but I'd have to look at the old time slips. The owner got kicked off of all the local tracks so he decided to turn it into a race car. He stripped the car down and had a full cage put in it and then he lost his place and had to sell the car. So the car has a stack of 10 second time slips in the glove box, but it was a totally different car then.
