Need advice and also a warning.

Also one more thing I have to add is the Op was never in the "hobby"...
you have to have a car to begin with and then you have to have it at home and work on it and you have to do something with it not just get ripped off by a thief..
In my opinion the hobby never began..
If the Op ever wants to get actually into the hobby he needs to buy a car put it on a trailer or as a matter of fact put it on the trailer or on a truck then buy the car.... Take it home and work on it.. and if at some point it needs repair Beyond his abilities he needs to research shops..
Sorry, J-Par, I haven't told you my whole life story but I've "been in the Hobby" for 30 years. Cars I've owned and worked on and hauled across country multiple times.......2 -1969 superbees, 2 -1969 Coronet 440, 1 -'65 Dart charger, 3 -1968 Barracuda Notchbacks 1 was 318 4 spd, and 2 were 318 727, 1 -1970 Challenger 340.

This is the first time I've attempted to let someone else do a full paint job and I wanted to build a car from the ground up. Never had to deal with this crap before, and I'm reminded every time I try to let someone else do something for me....This is why I do it myself.

If you just want to be negative and not offer up any meaningful advice, then why comment?
I realize that I may walk away with nothing but I'm asking the wealth of knowledge on these forums for advice on how to make the best attempt at getting something out of this deal.

By the way, I did actually go down there and get a bunch of parts from him at some point. Although a bit junky but I could sell them and possibly recover a couple grand. Better than a sharp stick in the eye.
