Need A Little help Please

I just haven't had the luck that you guys have had and i know why now......
Any ways here is the story.
Rebuilt my first 727, and you are right, with a couple of home made tools it was painless
Lasted until almost the end of the season, then failed.(this was when i was racing every other week end) at the now defunct RMR Raceway in SLC Utah.

Sooo i decide to take it to a "professional" aka a transmission shop!
Cost me a boat load of money and it failed yet again half way threw the season. Took it back and he adj the band and said that was all he could do because i race the car there was no warranty at all. The band adj was just being nice.(the band material was gone off the band so now the timing was real bad between the 1-2 shift lost 2nt gear before i got home that night!
My buddy had this guy build his 904(actually was a 998???? the one with the low first gear set) any ways, my buddy had been beating on his 68 dart that when into a 73 duster and work GRATE!
So, i had him rebuild my spare 727................Yup half way threw the season, it failed( this was my daily driver at the time.

There was a guy at the track that had a dragster with mopar big block and was running a 727 behind it. every time i failed a transmission i keep hearing about this guys transmission skills.

Soo, I Get ahold of him, drive to his house, drop off the transmission. He tells me that i should run a manual valve body in it if i'm going to race it........so i say ok and that i was going to build a new eng(I wasn't) and would it hold up to 500 Hp(stock 340 with a cam) He says no problem!!!!

That next year it live thru the hole year and i placed 17 at the end of the year.
The next year i was in 2n't place, the last race of the year but choked and ended up 4 for the year.
I have not raced hot and heavy like that and chase the point like that sence.
HOW EVER, that transmission was built in 1997....late 90' any ways...................STILL RUNNING STRONG TO THIS DAY!!!!!

CAN I REBUILD A 727 AND MAKE IT LIVE???? Yes i think so, because my failure was in the improper kick down linkage set up on the transmission.......Manual valve body eliminates that problem. All of my problems was 2nt gear band burning up.

When this 727 fails, will i rebuild it myself........................Not as long as that old man is still alive. If not then i will probably give it another go.

So J par
There is your answer, to your "Shock" and disbelief of my skills......................................
First of all F'em...
I knew there had to be more to that story and it sounded like you did just great except for putting the full manual kit in it..
Also the one you rebuilt lasted longer than all the others until this last old guy...
