67' FB. Have Cal Tracs, USCT spring relocate kit and mini-tub. 440ci(512) engine, auto. What springs are people running? Cal-trac splits @200 or 225lbs, hotchkis 3 piece, others? I have super stock springs on now. I know that they don't work with the cal-trac's. Probably 90% road and 10% track. Also, what's the best set of torsion bars for this weight, PST 1.03's, again hotchkis? Thanks in advance

Try them with the super stock springs for yourself and see how the work...it’s been done before.

I would use cal trac springs if I were going to run their bars but their bars will work with any spring.

My car hooks pretty dam good with the super stock springs and Competition Slide a links. Same as CalTracs. I have Viking double adjustable rear shocks. Kim

I'd use the split mono leaf springs. I build custom shock plates since I wanted the lower shock mount to be double shear. I like the way these shock plates work better than the ones that Calvert sells.

Also , calvert recommends "not" using s/s springs w/ their system .
I have the two" calvert on the front half of the spring , and the wider mopar/calvert back half , ''needed a little more height on rear.''
I did notch the back about a 1/4" for tire clearance . Been on there for approx. 7ish yrs . no problems.
There are quit a few people that disagreed w/ me on the notches , before I did it , but I have proven them wrong . The mopar width rear half is stronger than the calvert 2" front

half to start with. 295 60 d15 in stock fender wells . 3/4" offset spring hangars and

stretched front of fender wells

Thanks for the replies. Was wondering if the Calvert springs were good for the road too. Or if I should get the Hotchkis springs. I know they handled awesome. Also, if going Calvert, 200lbs or 225lbs ? Not sure what the car is going to weigh.

What leaf springs and caltracs did people use before caltrac came out with their own leaf springs?

Because caltrac springs are new within the last 10 years or so.

This is my friend Mike’s car ... home made Caltracs and lower shock plates, Springs are mono leaf that he had the local spring shop here in Winnipeg make.
