ALERT!! SOUND THE ALARM!!..

I can't imagine those prices not getting any buddies gears turning on different things...
No doubt. I've already got heads waiting but need the studs and the damper is about kaput. Trying to think what else I need in the motor that they sell. Their website doesn't help you poke around much.
703 bucks for a pair loaded is just too good to watch go by for anyone think'n on a set of aluminum heads. I would have paid 1450 for ProMaxx before I paid 1170 for these. But 703 ??

Promaxx Shocker CNC 185's are on sale for $1560 loaded, but they won't ship till Feb. Bare 171 non CNC are $905 or $1150 complete, ship in Feb.

Please let me be the first to encourage you to get the big block and get what you've always wanted! That is the point!
I always wanted a dual quad tunnel ram pistol grip four Speed Earth turning scary car.... I don't care if the Dual quads make it run worse and I don't care if the four speed is slower or whatever I got what I want and that's all that counts!...
My best friend from high school who I don't see much was over a couple weeks ago and we were talkin if we had this duster in high school lol we could have had a wart on our noses the size of a football and had the car full of chicks LOL...
Don't leave your dreams on the table, you only live once...:thumbsup:...
well, back in my teens, the 440 was about performance. A 340 Duster with a mild street cam and headers went 13's. Same with a 440 went 12's. Of course, times have changed. Nowadays small blocks yawn at 12's on the street, in fact I'm about there with a stock one and 2.94's. So for me now it's about the big block Duster and not so much the performance.

Is that the shipping date Summit gave you on the heads or straight from ProMaxx. Summit is known for giving a far out shipping date on stuff they don’t have in stock so people don’t call everyday. Then they are happily surprised when they show up early

Are you going to get on them here pretty quick? The trucks got me bog down for the next month at least.. I want to pull my motor and transmission and put it up on the stand and do this. I'm contemplating a different clutch depending on what mine looks like when I pull it out...
I’ve got a hardly used centerforce down I5 little ways. Dustin

Well as long as they don't send you Ford heads LOL.. (of course Only my luck could produce that..) it shouldn't take them long to get there.. if you start a thread or something taking them apart please let me know..

I'll let you know what I find. I'm very interested in the raised port, the short turn in the exhaust, the Siamese tubes, etc. Can't wait to compare to my latest 596's that I've ported.

How the heck do you get on Speedmaster70.com website

$438 for a set of bare aluminum heads and $52.40 for the bolt set? Damn near petty cash.......

Man, what a pos website on this slow internet I'm on. Looks like a lot out of stock. Rain checks?

I ordered a 500hp 383 Chevy stroker and a blower setup for 9000.
I gonna put it in a 67 notch back.
I think I got a great deal. lol

That was the date on the ProMaxx site. The SBM heads have all been out of stock for several months. Must be expecting a shipment.

He quoted me $800 to convert my regular 171's to the CNC Shocker 185 level with 2.08 intake valves. That seems pretty reasonable, but I can't use that flow at the moment. Going to give it some serious thought when/if a 4" crank goes in, down the road.

Wait a minute! That's Chinese junk you better stay away from that site!!..
Did you see what Colorado speed says about them!!..

I must use restraint, I must use restraint. I have used valves here, 600 lift double springs, 10 degree retainers and keepers. I must resist. I just wrote a 2800.00 check for School taxes Wednesday.

Damn, I am thinking on a pair for my 318. I have been saving a set of 302's to use but I know it will cost that much to go through them and at least port match. Damn!

What do you mean you can't use "that flow" at the moment?

That doesn't make any sense to me.

I jumped in this pool, ordered a set of BB complete heads, head stud kit, aluminum water pump and the aluminum housing, for a hair over $900. Pretty good deal, and if I have to go through the heads a bit to fine-tune them I can live with that. I'm not building a strip monster, just a fun street car. I think these will work just fine.
