While I’m here might as well point out that my rear end just about dripped itself dry the past week. I’m assuming it’s just a gasket? Or seal whatever u want to call it sorry for my adolescent stupidity and thank u guys for helping me out

Haha that’s what I’ve been doing but I feel like it’s not too good on the box so I just left it out in my driveway ready for a new pump. For people saying I should rebuild I overtorqued the pressure hose and broke the threads on the pump ( Please call me an idiot) I know rookie move right.

That fitting unscrews from the pump. Be ready for it, it has a spring and maybe some washer behind it. That's the pressure regulator. You can put in the wanted section a picture of it and I am sure somebody has one. You don't need the whole pump.

Bravo !! Rusty......Exactly the advice I was going to give as well..Did the same thing when I was about his age ,had a shaft seal so bad it came out almost as fast as you could poor it in !!..Took a couple days to get one.Big arms at the end of the week though ..swingn’

Don't know. We're not there to see it. You have the rear end cover gasket, an axle seal on each side and an seal right behind where the drive shaft yoke on the pinion gear. Inspect each of those areas and you will find where the leak is.

Thanks guys I’ve been called “hot headed” a hell of a lot before, not a good trait to have in this type of predicament

Stupid Chinese pressure hose and my pissed off strength trying to get that thing on during night time, one last turn and bam there goes my pump
I almost blew up my engine because I worked on it at night, don't so that anymore, unless I'm in a brightly lit up shop.

i'm not home, and won't be able to check what pumps i have until tuesday, but if you want to drive up to van nuys any day after monday you can have one of mine.

anyone know if either pump will fit on his brackets?

According to your picture here, that's not a Federal pump. That's a TRW pump. Look at the picture of the two pumps on the first page. Yours matches the TRW.

If I was 17 I'd go back to that junkyard and get a manual steering box. Now if you consider that, you'll have to disassemble part of the steering and buy a steering shaft adapter.
