Complete Rear End for 69 Dart

You'd be money ahead doing the Ford 8.8 swap.
I agree it's cheaper but I just did one and found out the 8.8 axle tubes are much lighter duty (3/16" thick vs. 3/8" thick) than 8-3/4 tubes so your saving money but not getting as much bang for your buck. Plus to do it right you need the pucks and bar to get things straight. The one I just did looked fine until I put the pucks in and tried to get the bar through. One tube was bent about 1/8" and the other was about 1/4" off. IMHO the 8.8 isn't much stronger than a 8.25. Another problem with a 8.8 is you can't really get the driveshaft perfectly centered unless you cut down the short side 1/4" too and that is a problem with the axle length. If you just cut the long side down and make it the length of the short side the driveshaft is 1/4" off side to side. Hoping the one I just did (my first) doesn't vibrate or eat U-joints
