Step Right Up and Guess... What will my 410ci make for Power?

It was kind of fun doing my last what will it make thread so I thought I'd do another one for my 410 stroker motor.

-Scat balanced Forged Rotating assembly with dish +20.5 pistons
-Edelbrock Performer RPM heads (originally 65cc but now 55cc if memory serves me correctly) that were milled to up the compression ratio to 10.9 to 1.
-Pocket porting and intake matching as well as some SS work (nothing too crazy).
-Edelbrock Air Gap Intake
-Custom Ground Comp Solid Cam- 255/264 @ 050. w/.585/.586 Lift. LSA 108
-Comp Pro Roller Rockers 1.5 ratio
-TTI Step Headers (1 5/8 to 1 3/4)
-QF SS750 Carb
-MSD Pro Billet Dist w/MSD 6AL2

That's all I can think of at the moment. Previously this engine made close to 500 hp with a smaller hydraulic cam (244/248), lower compression (9.8 to 1), and stock out of the box eddy heads.

Lets see who can guess the closest. I'll be having it dyno'd in about 3 weeks.
 
I guess it would matter who's Dino your using.. then it would just be a motor making numbers on a computer...
What was the time slip from the old motor and what was it in and how much did it weigh...
 
What altitude are you at? Too close or under 3,000' and pump gas will start to become a question...maybe you're already planning for that? I know you said you did some work on the intake, but a small single plane (Torker II on street, Victor if more track duty) will let that new cam breath a lot better. Also, you didn't mention spring upgrade-stock Brocks will probably let the valves hover with that new solid. Stiffer, correct length pushrods were included too, ya? All that being said, hoping you can end up 25-ish better (or more!) than what you had. Only important thing about the dyno really is that you're using the same one from last time...SAE correction factor will cover the air discrepancies. Don't forget to send your printout to your converter folks so they can "reprogram" it to your liking. Can't wait to hear how wrong we all are:lol::popcorn:

Elevation is about 1k but it won't be an issue. The engine builder who did all these upgrades took everything into account. When it comes to building Mopar engine's he's the only one I trust. He won the very first Mopar Performance engine builder challenge in 2006 for his 440 ci 700+ hp small block. He's built a half dozen engines for various cars my dad and I have had. I didn't go into all the details about what he did and put into the engine but it got a full work over with new valve springs, retainers, locks, pushrods, geometry correction on the valvetrain, valve job, pocket porting, matching the intake and cylinder head runners etc along with the other work for swapping out the cam. This wasn't a cheap little cam swap I had done lol.

I drive a stick so no reprogramming needed on a stall convertor ;).

This thread really is just for fun to see how close people can get to the right number. My estimate being it'll be on the same dyno it was on before and it made 496 hp previously makes me think it'll probably make about 536-540 but we'll see in a few weeks.

Be sure to tell your buddies it was just a cam swap tho:thumbsup:
 
My previous motor (may it rest in pieces) was really close to what you described (410 cubes, 57cc ported Eddys, dished Diamond pistons, 10.8:1 compression, 248/254 street roller, Airgap (and /victor...tried both), 750 Holley) . I never dynoed that motor, but it ran 10.7-10.5 depending on the weather.

Should be between 530-540hp (depending on the dyno). My guess is 539hp....just for grins.

bet it makes more than my mild 426 stroker that came in at 520 hp 560 tq , i think 540hp 550tq . hope you like your build and have a blast driving it think a better intake will give you more , maybe a torker II or any singlr plane intake , that's what kills my build , air gap just does not breathe enough over 5,000 rpm even though it was ported

wonder what a Victor 340 would do?
My post #17...to eloborate (because I have run both intakes on the same motor), it netting me about a tenth after all was said and done and tuned (took a while to fine tune, swapping squirters, messing with suspension, etc). Granted, the Air-gap had more torque...but with a 4 in arm, it is not lacking torque. Overall, I was pretty impressed with the Air-gap, and would have left it on the car except that my car is ~ 75% race and 25% street. That motor went 10.89 with the Air-gap, and 10.79 with the Vic in similar air.

Also to note, my 5k converter meant I was always at 5k and up (shifted at 6200)...which is another reason why the Vic did better on my combo.

508 hp @ 6000 506 torque @ 4500
