Just curious as to how many of us spend time watching YouTube Series vs watching builds take shape post by post on a thread?

I'm about 90% sure i'm participating in the 2020 powertour and going for the longhauler.

It'll be a Mopar build. Probably my Late B body Mule that I've been procrastinating doing something with

it'll be a twin turbo SB build. Contemplating everything from 5 PSI at a stock 318...to doing a specific 408 with low CR and throwing 12PSI at it.

Worth watching a string of 30 minute videos along the way? or rather just follow along on a thread?

Yup. Please do that. I vote low comp 408 with a nice pair of Garrett gtxs. It’s easy spending your money.

of turbos.

I would watch something with one of these, though.

LOL We'll see what pans out! I doubt they will be $1000 turbo's....maybe move that decimal place once.lol

Yes, but I vote draw-through.

Depends how good the video/audio will be.
Building a hot rod is a lot of work. So is good video making.
If you don't have someone(s) to help, I might lean toward forum threads.

Me personally, I'd be a whole lot more likely to follow a build on here, then on youtube

Plus, you dont want to jinx yourself, but most of the youtube videos I watch end up going "boom"

I would love to see you do both the videos and thread. We are planning on Powertour as well, but unless something changes going to do all the stops up to St Louis then home because of work constraints.

I have seen you do guest appearences on TV on the History Channel on Engine Power Block, and watched all your SEMA videos. Hell yeah, go for it!!!

Videos, cuz typing for hours kindof sux, lol, especially if you're running a business.
I vote staged and the bigger one is a remote mount, and a lil one upfront, maybe in the fender, to get things moving. Shorty headers would be fine, into a box plenum under the floor, or bellhousing, with hot pipes distributing from there. the lil turbo dumps it's exhaust into the remote , after the plenum, and behind a fancy one-way gate.
You can disguise the remote mount cold return pipe as a laker pipe on the drivers side and on the other is the hot exhaust supply to the turbo, and both with fake turn-outs.Oh yeah super cool.
But when I open the hood I don't want to see the crazy log manifolds and probably not the lil turbo either. Maybe you could disguise the cold sides as ram air pipes
The remote one can be like opening the secondaries, just a smooth powerful BB charge, while the lil one is working pretty much right off idle, like one of those power-stroke Fords, or whatever they call 'em.
Ima thinking modest NA power, into whatever hp with the remote, but with monster torque in the midrange. Well not too much cuz it's hard on tires when they won't quit spinning.
A999 and 2.94s or less, make that lil hummer work, and 2400rpm=65mph. Or A500 with 3.91s, that's a snappy NA combo, and 2400=72mph; and the bonus with this is 60mph=~4850 rpm.... in second gear.
Using a teener, you might be able to make that into a 28mpg combo, with that EFI.
And I want a bigazz detented lever sticking up somewhere in the cab, which being the adjustable boost controller;with a lil flag on it, and labeled; ..... <afterburner> ..... in really small writing
My grandpa had a horse drawn grass-cutting scythe, you know the kind with the one oscillating blade above a fixed blade. Anyway,it had a squeeze lever on it with a remote rod, that went down to a toothed 1/4 circle deal, used to adjust the cutting height. He would squeeze the lever (like a bicycle brake lever) to unlock the cutting height then yank the stick to raise the cutters, then release the lever to lock in the new height. That,in reduced scale, is what I'm seeing. I don't care how ugly it is. Hey, I know; fake parking brake near the console. Ino,ino, not the same thing, lol. well sorta, right?

Hey, I can dream can't I .......

Wildly specific!! Lol I like it.

I can say ive now done two of your engines and good lord, for the cost they are unbeatable. Those puppies step out before you can say "oh ****."

Id love to see what you can do with some backing from blueprint and some of your own ingenuity, elbow grease!

Dont forget to tell the higher ups that win on sunday, sell on Monday is still very much alive.

Make it happen buddy.

To bad we dont live closer, id lend you my Dyers set up....

Trust me, if you can make a good showing with a lower cost, crate engine. Even if its reworked by your hand, you WILL sell engines.

As a new car builder i cant stress enough how good Johnny is. There's few companies that match their customer support.

Johnny took time out of his day ON HIS DAY OFF, to help me. So yeah. just because of him, i will continue to use you guys.

Keep up the good work.

Though I read the threads ,I also do plenty of Tubes.

The big benefit of a thread compared to a tube is the ability for additional inquiries and specifics, the downside to a thread is the hijacking of same and dopey talk about Cheeseburgers and such.

This project is right in my wheelhouse as a Turbo 408 is on the drawing board right now and just wanting to finalize tweaking my needs before I start end up having a bunch of high dollar stuff sitting on the shelf i'm not going to use. Y'all making it too easy going in a B Body and i'd suggest raising the bar and skillset and stuffing it into an Early A, Heck i'm such a nice guy I'll even offer my 65' Cuda for the project.

Mine started out as twin's but now leaning towards a single PT88

I have the SportFury/RR/Mona-carlo already....So that's pretty much in stone as the dart is too far removed from the street to make 2000 miles.
I have the twins, have stainless.t4 manifolds....So some of it has direction. We shall see how she goes!!!

That feedback is exactly why we do what we do!! Thank you so much for the kind words!

12 PSI?

I for one would love for you to make any excuse for a "crate race" block.

Id guess its like trying to toast a marshmallow in a volcano but hell maybe Blueprint could be the people to make it happen someday.

That is 100% doable, but takes sales volume. We do the GM's, about to do Ford's, I push for a roller SB mopar with head oiling. We'll get there. Just time.

Thread with video inserts would be my preference, it gives the slower thinkers like me a chance to absorb the intricate details in between steps.

My vote would be Thread with Videos.

I can dig that. I like watching UTG (Uncle Tony’s Garage) on you tube. Project bottle rocket is a scream and Tony has been around a long time. I like his style. (Could just be a New Yorker thing... since I am as well....) Not quite fit for TV though and that is just OK as well. I used to watch what is now on motor trend tv, Roadkill and the other fun stuff those guys do. Yup, I signed up there & keep up.

I think your going to find it a huge effort, the more professional you make it which should be the goal. I believe it to be worth it in the end.
