Best deal you’ve ever made on old cars

My first car in 1973 was a '65 four door Valiant V-8 with a burned exhaust valve: $125.00 (that became my bracket racer)

Then about the same time, a 1963 Pontiac Grand Prix 389 V-8 for $100.00. (that became my daily driver)

Much later, circa 1995, a non-running older Ford Ranger for $100.00--spent about $15.00 installing a new timing belt and drove it home (that we sold for a couple of grand)!

About 2000, paid $2,000.00 for a 1992 Jeep Cherokee (two-wheel drive) from the original owners who had a new Jeep Cherokee in their garage. Still have it as a spare vehicle with 180,000 miles on it.

P.S. We are talking about US dollars here. And forgot one, in 1995 purchased a 1985 Dodge Caravan (cargo version-two front bucket seats only) with a busted out rear window for $700.00. That was my daily driver (four-cylinder 5-speed) until about 2005 when it quit on the freeway and I gave it away to a friend.

Not to mention my current daily driver with 285,000 mile on the odometer. But this is a hand-me-down from Dad, who purchased the fully-loaded 1996 Dodge Dakota 3.9L five-speed new from the dealer.
