ALERT!! SOUND THE ALARM!!..

Free shipping !!!! Say's it all. If it were me, I'd be happy to get them within 10 days.
Free shipping is a good deal on bulky parts, be patient.
easy for me to say, usually have my parts within 48 hrs. lol
Ha! Ya but you're right up the street!

On the bright side, we could have had to clip the order form from the back of a catalog, mailed in the order and waited 4-8 weeks for delivery......

Back in the good old days I had to walk to pick up the parts I ordered. And it was uphill both ways and 36 inches of snow in the ground, and road salt wasn’t invented yet.

Customer service is not optimum it sounds but they were probably overwhelmed by all the orders. Heck we kept them busy for a day or two with all our orders. LOL Hope you get it straightened out.

I think I spoke too soon out of frustration. FedEx called me back with an investigation number and they're looking into it now. Waiting game now

At least Speedmaster did their job. Hope they find it.

FWIW....... this one and an actual Comp Pro-magnum fit just fine.

The rocker that had the contact with the retainer was a PRW, which I’m told is the same as the SM rockers....... but I haven’t had a SM rocker in my hand, so I can’t say for sure.

I dont doubt you'll find some rockers that will fit. I doubt the geometry is correct.

And that's the issue. No matter where you out the stands or how or low you make the saddle, every single rocker arm is different so it makes just bolting a rocker on and hoping for the best is a crap shoot.

I do know that the Mancini rockers will go on the TF heads and be very close. So any other rocker probably won't be.

I gather you were using aluminum or even titanium "hand cranks" back then?

I’m a member of the correction club. On my Edelbrock headed 408 with a 650 lift roller cam my geometry was all out of wack. I called, we talked, I gave him the needed numbers and within a few days I was good to go. The only thing I didn’t like was I had to grind on my expensive Harlan Sharp shafts to get the movement I needed.

I just figured you were making your own correction system. carry on ! lol

Called again today and they finally got my order squared away. The sales guy mentioned they had 15k orders over last weekend, I told them at the prices they were selling at they needed that much volume to make any money!, he agreed.

How is t.he valve quality on the speedmasters. Usable or not.
I wouldn't worry about using the valves, we have used quite a few elgin/qualfast stainless one piece valves and the sm seem identical to those. I do like to upgrade to better springs, locks etc.

Ok, I got the wrong head stud kit too possibly... LOL. They sent me PC2459-1/2 and it listed a different part number??? But, I checked my 3 receipts and they didn't charge me for them, so if they are wrong I guess they are free... LOL
Did those turn out to be the wrong head studs? Because those are the same ones that I got...

Summit sent me the wrong gaskets so now I'm all suspicious LOL..
  • I just logged on and "boom", alert popped across my screen! LOL. I didn't even look at the stud kit, but if they sent you the exact same then maybe they are correct - but mine were FREE!!! LOL.
  • I doubt that gasket mess up was Summit. But hey, I've got exhaust gaskets now
  • Almost done with the video. I tore into these puppies right away! Hope to post it tomorrow.... maybe.

It was definitely Summit. I tried to blame it on Pro Comp right away and they said no they came from our warehouse. They're clearly exhaust gaskets and say exhaust gaskets under the laminate and then an afterthought sticker right near it saying intake gasket. I called Summit they said throw them in the garbage and before I could get out to my chair I already had a new shipping order pop up and they're on their way...
Looks like the gaskets for grandson of seed truck just got upgraded LOL.. but still nothing I would put on the duster they just look like the paper mr. Gasket ones or whatever... I would have header leaks almost instantly with those garbage gaskets.. but for stock manifolds they might work fine.

Also any first impressions?

same gaskets I got - LOL :D
I told them that I thought someone else got the same gaskets and they need to check them before they mail them out..
We'll see how many sets I get before they get it right LOL..
The good part is I don't need them for some time...

Also any first impressions?
so far so good (I'm going through the 1st head). In a lot of ways I'm impressed! small "burr" at the bottom of each seat that I'll point out in the video, but nothing earth shattering. This first head's casting looks spot on, I was really impressed with the casting, still proving some of it. I've got a few more things to prove out and add to the video, then I'll upload it. Hopefully it might help some of the folks that are waiting for their heads to arrive. "the blue collar review"... LOL :D
