Riddler’s Ride - Project Eh-Body 1:25 scale

Back at it again. Couldn’t find my wheels in 1:24 scale so I had some made. 3D printed.

I'm also having a dual snorkel hood scoop 3d printed. If your interested in one for your model I can prolly have more printed. These will come raw and need to be sanded and primed before paint.

Lastly I'm in need of a 75-76 grill for my build. I've got a resin 73-74 grill if anyone wants it. Does anyone have a 75-76 grill they'll trade, sell or cast for me?

Thanks,

Riddler

Well it's getting cold outside again...so I guess I'm back at the model game. My son (9) has decided he wants to build a car so I gifted him a Viper model. Nothing like teaching the young-ins.

I found a snorkel hood at harts parts resin. Now I need to still find a grill. I know MPC made a 1975 annual Duster and would love to find someone who has one and would cast another in resin.

Never even crossed my mind that 3D printing could be used for building models. Love the idea of building something similar to something I own, or just want to build someday, but always seemed like the parts or model wasn't anything that existed.

Not saying it would be easy, but better than hand carving in my mind.

I found a 1:25 Resin Body for my '65 barracuda. Can anyone suggest what model I should by to have a Chassis for it?
The plan is a Rallye Wheel, Smallblock 4-Speed model of my car.
Thanks.

71 duster?

Then you get the hard to find SBM engine, too.

Yeah a 71 AMT kit should work. But whoever sold you the resin kit has a suggestion for assembly or at least can tell what kit it’s based off of.

Here’s an update... I don’t get a lot of time but was fortunate enough today.

Started on the chassis and of course like the real thing the Hemi needs room. Cut notch out of the frame rail, just like the real thing. Then started kit bashing a K frame to work.

While glue dried I cut and sanded out the window openings on the resin 73-76 duster shell.

Lastly the resin kit calls for the 75 Duster (Dart) kit but it lacks detail. So I decided to use the 71 AMT kit which means the body is missing some things. First up, inner fender wells.

After that was glued and drying I used some leaf springs and putty to make subframe connectors.

Sadly I might have to cut out the center hump for the T56 just like the real thing.

Started mocking up the body, to make sure it all fits together and what needs putty and sanding. So far it's fit pretty well. I found the hood scoop by chance and purchased it from a Resin mold maker using old MPC parts.

Engine now fits but I need more resin parts to complete the RMS front and rear suspension. I'm going to have to use the K frame from the kit as I just don't think it's worth it to scratch build and entire front suspension K frame. Bad enough I have to do control arms and coilovers.

I also started to mock up the interior to see what that'll look like. I have to make my custom dash as well. Lucky it's just time.

You know what's funny is...
I got the '71 Duster Kit (for Smallblock and Wheels) and the '69 Barracuda Kit (for Chassis stuff) that would fit my '65 Barracuda build.
Both of those model kits came with Traction Bars for a Mopar! (and I used 'em) Lol
