i'm sure this must've been asked before but does anyone currently make LA small block A body fenderwell headers before i have to make some? i have a 68 valiant so the later, wider engine bay.
cheers, neil.

Why? Unless it is THE last option, there is no reason to to use FW headers. I've never seen an off the shelf set of FW headed worth rat spit.

Why F-up your inner fenders? I got the honor of replacing mine because someone cut my car at some point. Cut the torque boxes too, must have been a real genius. Buy Doug's, TTI's, or Hooker Super Comps.

If your looking to get the most horsepower use the hedman 75140 that's 1 7/8" ×3 1/2".One tube on each side goes through the fender well.I just drilled a hole with a hole saw.My demon went a 10.60 with hooker 5204 1 3/4×3" then a 10.29 with the hedmans.

It says it right in your name... "MY-GASSER"
That sounds awesome! I think the a body gashers look cool as hell when done right.. I don't even understand how you could call it a gasser without fender well headers... I very much understand it's a look that you're going for, a very nostalgic look..
It's obvious you can't do this without a dual quad tunnel ram as well...
More power to ya!!...

If I had any cojones I would take that stupid torsion bar suspension right out and put a straight axle in...
Along with some big jacked up ladder bars in the back...
Preferably painted a bright color so everybody could see it...

I love 68 valiants and gassers. You have both in one car. How about some pics. And if you fab your own headers let us see that too please. Very cool stuff. I have a 68 that needs a front clip............. You've got me thinkin'.........

just an fyi ,not my opinion but happened to just read about this car:
"You don't want to run fenderwell headers in those cars without a full tube frame up front - the parts that look like fenderwell liners are actually the front frame rails. I've seen a lot of A-bodies where a builder forgot that and ended up with some serious front end problems or sag because they cut giant holes in structural parts of the car without appropriate reinforcement. You'll want to stay with under chassis headers if he's using the stock unibody. Since he has a straight axle conversion, I'm not sure how much of the stock front clip remains, but it looks like a lot of it is still being used to hold the front together."

"While a straight axle is one "period correct" approach here, many of the Mopar gasses just used the stock front suspension with the ride height adjusters cranked all the way up."

If you're up to Fab them, search out the CarCraft 69 340 Dart giveaway car pics. I believe those headers were made by Cragar.

thanks all and yes it'll have a straight tube axle too, probably using hairpins and coilovers like my 105e anglia estate (wagon) gasser so it looks more 'racecar' if you get my drift. i'll almost certainly radius the rear arches too. oh, and paint.... i have some fairground indigo metalflake that i used on the anglia so that's covered and the engine has an early tunnel ram which i'm told by members here is the best available for a small block. plus it'll be getting a borg warner t5 manual box bolted up behind it 'cos it's got to be manual right?
cheers, neil.
ps i have a build thread here, i've changed my mind a few times but pretty settled on the current plan so we'll see. 68 valiant signet

Hedman made fenderwells, Cyclone made them years ago (I got a set but they are small tube, 273 port size) ProParts makes a semi set for a B/RB that can be adapted to an LA with a flange and it has 1 3/4 tubes. Because fenderwells have sweeping bends, its not hard to fab them with a tight tube bender.

last set I made, and I'm a lousey fabber, I dummied up with flex tubing tacked together to get max radius bends and equal lengths- then made a lot of mistakes with pre bent mandrel pieces
