I had some custom decals made for my 426 stroker small block. I used BPE’s 4.125 kit in my 340 block, but Hughes makes a 426 kit in a 360 block. I also have an edelbrock STR-12 crossram intake I will be putting on it this winter to complete the look.

People are gonna **** when they see that. Nice work. Had a guy see my STR-12 340 and told his buddy it was a Chevy motor in a Dodge...yo brainstorm, its a PLYMOUTH! I let him pass on the 'Chevy motor', you can't fix dumb.

Ok so to get 426 ci what’s inside ? 360 block ....etc

Why Hughes? checkout others like SCAT and...
but not...
check the rods for what makes that stroke easier
crankpin size and capscrews
watch for pin dia - get to match your pistons

I used BPE 4.125. 6.200 rods with small journals. Thing runs it’s *** off with ported heads. I have a hellcat and peak power I am sure isn’t the same, but torque feels pretty close.

Sweet!! Wait until you get the intake on there!!! :)

Headers look good. Did you paint them, and it so, what paint did you use?

I had them ceramic coated at local place. They were chrome TTI’s but the chrome discolored and looked like hell.

Because they like what they see in the kit and it is complete and easy to press the EZ button instead of searching and searching all over the place to put together a kit yourself.

The other places like Scat are a fine source.

Many guys here aren’t as knowledgeable as other so putting a kit together part by part from multiple sources is out. From your stand point, it’s easy to sit there and type, they should learn, they should figure it out, etc....

They don’t have to. It is fine going to Hughes or another place and press the “EZ” button. All the work is done for you.

My Uncle had one of them stage IVs in a Duster right from the factory. Biggest small block they ever made. Had a factory 7 speed behind it. And a Dana 95.

Wasn’t that the fame dual over head quasi-moto engine?
They were, IIRC, capable of low 11’s OOTB & 27 MPG’s.
They painted them that puke brown paper bag color if memory serves.
I think my dads sisters 4th husbands 3rd removed adopted cousins, step son (half Asian) kids grandson married an chick from the land where they built the Yugo and had one imported back to the states. I thought they were smokin dope until they showed a discolored Polaroid camera picture shot. I guess it must be true that right?!?!

I was on Scat's website a few days ago and they don't list a Mopar small block crank with more than 4" stroke that I could find. They would probably make you one custom but I imagine that adds quite a bit to the price.

Can't find anything on BPE's site so I might have to call them. Something about a 426+" small block makes my leg tingle. Either way the 4.1xx" stroke cranks do carry a bit of a premium over the standard 4" kits you can get, but that's just a few more weeks of peanut butter sandwiches for lunch instead of going out.

BPE offers (Or at least did) as high as a 4.250 stroke. The 4.125 stroke actually fits better with less clearancing the block than a 4.00 stroke because of the longer rod and smaller rod journals.

And I haven’t done any dyno testing but all the research seems to indicate the 4.00 and the 4.125 make the similar hp, but the longer stroke makes more 20-30 more TQ.

I always got wobbly-kneed over that Magical 426 number. LOL. A 426 SB just sounds good. 426 callouts on the hood looks good! I thought K1 was good quality stuff? Forged crank, billet H beams, forged pistons...if you can piece together a similar kit, better quality by all mean please do so, I wouldn't know what to look for. :)

You would have to pay attention to the;
Crank (340 or 360) and the
big end rod journal sizes. (Chevy or MP)
Rod small end sizes. (Chevy or MP)
Also, length and width.

Then find pistons for the rod and stroke into what ever bore size you intend on. Which you would know before hand anyway.
You may need to order custom pistons. That could run $1,000. More or less.

Hmm that 435 small block stroker kit sounds delightful.
I could stuff that into the dakota instead of the big block.

Excuse me while I go stare at the 383 block and the 340 block and ponder the ponderings.
