Did all 1968 Dodge Darts come with manual pump for windshield washer tank? I see they sell reservoirs with electric pump set-ups...is this an aftermarket option. I have an existing tank that is set-up for electric(new). The wire harness has a single wire with cap plug style hanging down...is this for the original motor connection or is this wire for something else...like brake master cylinder warning switch. If they did come with an electric option...how is it activated...pushing the windshield washer knob in? Thanks

Manual foot pump washers were standard on base models, where higher trim models were electric. You are correct- electric washers are activated by pushing the wiper knob that often is marked "washer".

The windshield washer switches are different(harness may be as well)
Switch #2864415 is switch for foot pump setup.
**edit** If you go electric pump, I have a mint "Wash" button.

Do you have a picture of the connection(harness) where it attaches to the electric pump? I'll remove the switch and see what number is on it. How much for the switch?

Thanks

Thanks...I'm going see if any current comes through the wire upon activation.

Pressing the button will activate windshield washer pump...correct?

Yes, if proper switch. Does button have "wash" on it?

Am I totally wrong in thinking the variable speed wipers and electric washers went together? That's how I've always seen it.
