Yup that's the one thing that i kinda regret, was going with so much compression. buying that 55 gal drum of racing fuel really hurts.
The next eng will have lower compression or go to alcohol. Hopeful i will have another 15 year to decide.

The engine I've had in my street/strip car for the last several years only cranks around 100psi. It was built for spraying a couple kits on 92 octane pump gas, doesn't take a lot of compression to feed 355ci when the heads flow 340cfm :)

Here's how I see it- I get plenty of seat time @ .20 per mile for fuel, my hi-compression race gas friends not so much seat time at around $1.60/mi. I fill my own bottles, I figure every 40 miles I put on the car I save enough in fuel costs to pay for 10lbs of N2O.
