Welcome to the site Charlie!
I "think" the B-body has a larger diameter shaft where the pitman arm bolts on.
We will see what the answer is from those who know for sure.
All manual steering boxes, with the exception of C-bodies and vans, have the same sized shafts and are interchangeable. The power steering boxes were the ones that changed in '73, the manual boxes kept the same small sector for the entire time they were used.
B-body manual steering boxes typically had the heavy duty bearings instead of bushings, so they make for a good upgrade if you know it actually came from a B-body. Most of the A-body manual boxes were bushed instead.
A lot of folks think that the large sector change for the 73+ power steering boxes carried over to the manual boxes as well. It didn’t, the non-C body manual boxes kept that small sector the whole time.
That bigblockdart link is super helpful for ID’ing steering boxes too, especially if you’re at a parts yard or swap meet.
