Went to the local swap meet in Moultrie,Ga. to kill some time & maybe find something worth buying. Me & my buddy learned that to get the good deals; you have to go early. It paid off big time this go around. Been looking for one of the bucket style bench seats for my Duster for a couple of years with no luck until now. Walked up on one a older gentlemen that had one he used in his shop to sit on like a couch but decided it was time to sell it. What a find. Already recovered & the color I needed! Scored it for a $100! What a deal!

I agree if it is a swap worth being at , be there when the gates open, or better yet, IF at the Nats, buy a vendor space and be there when they let vendors in the day before.
I always had my parts priced to sell, I would sell more parts on Thur afternoon than the other fri and sat combined. Many of the parts I sold were bought by other vendors and marked up, many times those same parts went home with them on Sun!! ha

Years ago I kept hearing about how valuble a bench seat from an early Mustang was... never saw one in person so I figured they are worth something.

Then I found one in the same condition your nice seat is in...cheap. I dragged it around swap meets and car shows for almost three years before I gave it away!

I guess it depends where your located sometimes. Where I live there is not a lot of Mopars around; mostly Chevys. Plus it seems old trucks are more popular now than cars in my area.

This was back in the 90's...lots of Mustangs being restored. I even dragged it to a Ford only swap in Dearborn, MI only to hear "that's rare" about a million times.

Now I know "rare" means nobody wanted them when new, either!

Maybe because it was a Ford. LoL !

I did the same thing at the N. GA Swap Meet at Atlanta Dragway yesterday. I bought an 8 3/4 truck rearend with 3.55 gears for $55....complete drum to drum. The drums are stuck, so I don't know if it's a sure grip or one legger. Don't care! LOL. I will eventually put it under my 88 D100 to replace the 9 1/4 that has Bonneville gears in it.

Texasis the same way! Seats usually can be god items, so often they are long gone in a project car. But early Mustangs?,... they made how many million???
