I’ve been getting my gauges and interior lighting in my 70 Duster to work and while messing with the wiring behind the gauge cluster, I found this thing that appears to be a bulb socket, it’s got two wires going into it, a blue and a blue with white stripe. One of them goes to the circuit board connector and the other one has been chewed through by my ex. It fits perfectly into one of the circuited light holes in the back of the cluster but I thought all of those got power from the circuitry itself.
I believe the harness is out of a 71 Duster.
What is this for?

Thanks guys

I found the other end of the chewed up wire and reunited them. The contact spot for the bulb is hot whenever the ignition is on

Thanks guys

I gotta ask "chewed through by my ex" ? :)

Did the A body use a reverse "light indicator" like the E body did in 70 with a four speed? Maybe that what it is? Never had an A body four speed but I had an E body so I'm just guessing.

It was tied into all of these. None of them were plugged in to anything so I just removed them all completely.
I still don’t know what they are but I guess it’s something my car doesn’t have

The post says 1971 harness. I'm thinking alternator light out of rallye cluster.

Has the harness been changed to a 71 wiring harness? It looks identical to the 70 harness for a conventional cluster but if the harness is for a rallye cluster the wires in the master plug will be arranged completely differently. I haven't found the arrangement to the rallye plug but there here's the info referenced by '63GT. I printed these out for my usage when i did aftermarket gauges but a FSM is really your best friend here.

The guy I bought the harness from said it was a 71. From what I’ve been able to tell through all the wiring diagrams I’ve printed, he was right. But to me those diagrams are like trying to read an ancient Chinese scroll lol

if you look at that 70 wiring diagram, it doesn't EXACTLY agree, but there is a key-in/ headlight on buzzer at the very bottom middle on the diagram, which looks 'similar' to what you have.

Sorry, but a 50+ year old car. A factory manual and schematics are a must. If they look like a Chinese scroll, trade the car for a rickshaw.

It is seat belt buzzer and seat belt lamp. Got this from the 73 service manual. You can download manuals free from MyMopar. some of them there, including the 73, are due to efforts of guys from this site right here
