The newest issue of Mopar Action has an article on "new" '69 Dodge Chargers made by using custom carbon fiber body panels attached to 'de-skinned' Dodge Hellcats. The article says pricing starts at $120K and that includes the purchase price of the new Hellcat.
Classic '69 Charger looks with new car exceptional performance, comfort and reliability. The dimensions are pretty close with the new build being 2" shorter and 4" wider that an original '69 Charger.
Now, when I win the Lottery....

It's in February '20 Mopar Action.

It's body panels glued onto a challenger.

Ugh.

And a cowl induction hood. What were they thinkin'?

Body proportions are wrong, wheels are too modern and funky for the design and the hood is so wrong it doesn’t even deserve to be noticed.

The idea might have been decent...but the final design execution sucks rocks. Looks like a caricature of a what it was supposed to be.

Total grade...C-

The only reason I didn’t fail it completely is because it has a massively powerful factory drivetrain which stands on its own.

Nice try. I want to like it. But I just can't. I sure hope FCA does something different with the Charger when they redesign it, but not that. And Chargers ain't supposed to have four doors.

I am sick. I LOVE that, cept with a 1968 front clip, 1969 Charger taillights, black/black/black wheels & dog dish hub caps. I might never afford a charger, I'd take this as a distant 2nd.

Might be a whole different animal if it weren't murdered out. I love black cars, don't get me wrong, but there can be too much black in one place.

I like it. I don't particularly like the hood though. I REALLY disliked the fact that Ma Mopar rebranded the Charger as a 4 door. I can see where some may not like it, but that is why they make more than one flavor of ice cream.

Dem proportions, tho...They wrong.

Kinda like that 'Stuperbird built on the Challenger chassis.

People need to make new awesome stuff, not rehash old crap. This is like putting a Superbird nose on a Dart. Just not the same.

It's a fugly POS. It combines the rounded new lines of a car with the straight lines of a classic. It's a total clusterfuck.

Agree with RRR, fugly POS is exactly what I was thinking when I seen it, the only exception for me is possibly the rear but its so blacked out ya can't make out any detail.

Coulda put this on the stage with the recent Tesla Truck unveil as a battle of the Fuglys.......wonder if the windows are shatterproof...anybody got a brick?
