Hey guys any pics of where you’ve mounted your battery kill switch/master disconnect switch. Mines currently in my fiberglass rear bumper under the liscense plate but going to chrome bumpers and want to see what looks best. Car is a 69 Dart. Thanks

I mounted mine under the outer shell of the center console...don't know if you have a center console. Either way, no one could see it or knew it was there. I could easily reach under the console shell and flip the switch.

thanks for the reply, maybe I used the wrong term though, I’m taking about the battery master disconnect, usually in the rear of the car near the bumper area

Thanks for the info guiys, you never know who is reading these threads....!

Mount it where it can be reached in an emergency. Maybe even where a rescuer could get to it if needed. Doesn't matter if it's visible to others - get one that has a removable key.

we use 1 of the bumper bolt holes.

Best to look in the drag racing rule book for your sanctioned track.

I don't think an NHRA official or first responder could get to that in the even of an accident. lol

Hell no don't get one with a removable key. If a first responder doesn't have the key and you're upside down and on FIRE you screwed.

Removable key is only removable when in the Off position. As long as the switch is On, the key cannot be removed. This is a safety and security feature.

Oh ok.....color me stupid then. LOL My bad.

"What I intend to do." If you search this you can find photos of switches mounted in the trunk in such a way that a pushrod extends out say, the bottom of the tail lamp. You can turn this into anti-theft if it's a street car. Use a rod and sleeve that slide into each other, with a collar on the outer end to keep the exterior knob/ rod in place. "Rig" it (as per rules) so that it pushes for off. But pulling it back out won't turn it on, as it just slips the rod inside the sleeve. Use a GOOD QUALITY 4 terminal switch, and wire the small two in such a way as to kill the ignition or voltage regulator / field wiring. This prevents "after run." If you have EFI you can kill the pump relay

Ya this is a street car, it has an existing switch through the rear bumper where the liscense plate sits. I’m changing bumpers and just wanted to see some options before I start drilling a hole. Doesn’t need to be hidden at all.

Mine is a primarily driven street car and I wasn't a fan of running battery cables behind a crush point (in a rear end accident). I mounted a remote switch to the trunk support and use an aluminum rod (came with kit) to extend to the tail light housing reverse light socket hole. I bought a decent used tail light assembly and drilled out the lens directly behind the hole. At the track I replace the housing and thread in the T handle. I also made a "saddle" to hold the rod when not in use. You asked for pics.....
