The little 12ft is "too little." What I wanted was about a 14, more freeboard, maybe a splash well in the stern. I looked at these junkers a couple of weeks ago. He is asking 200 for one, 250 for the other "offers." Went out today and looked again. Offered him 200 for the whole mess. Maybe throw away the windshield, pressure wash the entire thing, new dash, new stern wood, and maybe get some aluminum (later, much later) and fashion a stern well. Maybe have my neighbor bedline the bottom of the inside of the hull It's about 14 1/2 going on 15, but still a simple light boat. Needs the steering rebuild of course. The old Johnson 35 is parts, it's missing the recoil and flywheel. The other boat is gonna get sawed up and taken to the dump. That will make boat dump run no5. It has an Evinrude 35, turns over, has compression. "We'll see" I don't actually need either outboard. Came home and got the Cummins / car trailer mated up, will be two trips tomorrow, about a 20 mi round trip for each boat

Damn, I'm stupid. And the snow is on the way LOL

So, a "sea barge?" At 71, this last year was the first for me. Bought a little 12ft Sea Kine Rowboat, had registration problems (since resolved) then bought another little 12 footer and sold it soon, and ended up with the 12ft Crestliner. I like it, but not enough freeboard. Damn near got swamped by a wake boat this last summer. Those damn things should be outlawed.

Them old johnrudes are becoming more and more popular.

Boat is an acronym for break out another thousand, but oddly this doesent fall into that phrase.
Break out another couple hundred.
Whatever floats your boat...
I never got on the water last summer, and gave away my boat to my son.

Goodness sakes you couldn't give me $250 to drag that stuff out of the yard..
Who would cost me more than that at the dump to get rid of it...

LOLOL Somebody disagrees that buying boats is better than buying drugs?

Well it was a tough long day. I was out at the "site" around 8:15 getting the trailer tilted and ready to winch the first boat up. I didn't get done and everything parked until around 4PM or after---and after dark. This was further than I had guessed. Pretty close to 25m round trip and I did this twice, so over 50m on the Cummins today.

We "got" snow expected, so I DID get the darn things tilted so hopefully they will drain some. First order ---if I can, before snow comes---is get what I want out of the glas boat, get it cut up and to the dump and GONE. It has a decent trailer and a "maybe" fixable old 35hp Evinrude, and maybe steering parts AND SOME TOP BOWS which look fair at first glance.

After that, depending on snow/ cold/ etc, is to clean out the aluminum, get it pressure washed (car wash?) and then maybe drag it down to the lake on my other trailer AND SEE IF IT LEAKS!!!

I.............AM.............BUSHED............!!!

Good work.

As long as it’s above freezing, you can just fill the boat with water from a garage hose to see if it leaks. No need to go to the lake and float it. This way it also gives you a better idea of where any leaks come from since you can trace outside and inside paths.

I vacillated over that, it takes a LOT of water to get above the seam in the hull. The other trailer is all rollers and works really well, I don't think (if the wx is decent) that it would take much to "get it in" and out. So I may use the hose yet. Don't know. My neighbor does body work part time and does some bed liners, been thinking of having him spray the interior up to above the seam.

I may do "neither" until spring LOL
