ok, who knows what’s going on with Schumacher? They have discontinued a lot of items and are perpetually back ordered on most others and somebody on one of the other groups I’m in said he had offered to sell him the company. So is he going bankrupt? Are they on the way out? That would be a shame because I always thought they had some decent stuff. Inquiring minds want to know.

There was a discussion on this not long ago. I don't know, He isn't young maybe he is retiring. I think his Dart was also on Ebay about a month ago. Probably not Bankrupt.

My understanding is health issues.I too have heard that the business is for sale.
The other thing I have heard and it has been quite some time now is the person that actually makes the Items may be the problem. Can't sell product if you can't get it to sell. My 2 cents.

I was wondering this myself..........
I am in the market for some big block headers in the spring, and noticed their website says they are out of stock on most things, not just the headers.
A supply issue or what's happening there?
If they are for sale, I would bet a company like TTI should buy it and expand their line up of products.
That would be a good fit.
Here's to hoping that it happens...........

I made a comment on another thread that maybe he was going out of business and another member hit the disagree button, but as always, didn't say why. Maybe he knows something? I was simply throwing ideas out in response to the conversation.

This would be a smart business move for TTI

I called him yesterday to see if he had the torque straps in stock. It took many calls throughout the day before he finally answered the phone. He said there was a problem getting what he needed to make them and to check back around the middle of January.

as much as I dislike laysons, they also are local to the puget sound (Seattle/Tacoma) area, and maybe that would be a good acquisition for them, too.

I agree on both counts, but it would at least keep it going. I mean sumbitch, Mopar people are already lacking suppliers as it is compared to everybody else.

I knew Michael years ago, though I haven't talked to him for some time, now. We both lived in the No Seattle area, but i have moved furthrr south almost 20 yrs ago, so i don't see him much anymore. Incidentally, he was actually a commercial artist at one time. He's a really nice guy. I vaguely remember something about him surviving a health issue many years ago, perhaps he's had a reoccurrence.

We're all getting old. I know I am on my last leg here. I never had so many health issues in the last three years. My pills for the day could fill an M&M bag. The only thing on my bucket list for sure is one last pass in the Orange Duster. Then they can bury me in it.

Well I hope it all works out, I talked to him many times at swap meets and told him I really liked their parts and what they were doing. He has some great stuff, it’d be a damn shame if somebody don’t buy it. I’d love to know what he’s asking.

I tried calling and emailing with no response. I need a set of headers so I went to ebay. I found a new never used set for a good deal so I hit the buy now. Hopefully it turns around because they have some great products.

Seems like I remember reading that as well. I've spoken with him on the phone before. I hope he's not going out, but it doesn't look good. His products have been out of stock for a long time now.

Yeah, I plan to purchase a set of their swap mounts for a future project. I "guess" I need to get them from Mancini now while they show them in stock. I only hope they really have them.

I know a couple years ago, his one supplier for the materials he needed dried up and went out. He was having a difficult time finding a supplier for similar pricing and schedules. He's a smaller buyer for most of those, so he's at the mercy of production schedules of the suppliers. I don't know if that is related to current, but I know it was just 2 years ago when all that happened.

It has to be at least 5 years ago I saw him at Carlisle. He looked very bad then. Bloated like on steroids. I hardly recognized him. I hope he is ok. I bought allot from him over the years

Either way, sounds like a market void for someone to fill.

I used the trans dapt ones from summit on my 440 car with zero problems. Half price I'd imagine too.

Recently my buddy got some mounts from him ...said he sold the biz and the new operator will continue on making his stuff
When? Who knows.

Can't blame him. I remember seeing those kits in the early '90's and I think some of my magazines from the '80's have his ads in them. If he made the first of them in his twenties, that alone is putting him at/near sixty.
