I am finishing my 68 barracuda build. All exterior lighting/ turn signal and dome/map/glove box/lighter/ trunk lites work however no dash at all. No indicator brake hi beam or illumnination lites. Flashers arent working either even after changing the signal stat. Changed out all bulbs just regular 194s. Wiring looked fine and all plugs are secure. Power at all fuse terminals. Wondering if its the circut boards at this point. Any help is appreciated. Its a ralley dash!

Other than the wiring in the round and rectangular plugs- no, unless it grounds thru the screws that secure the dash in.

Add more grounds to dash. Someone posted a pic before of a "daisy chain" of dash grounds. Someone may post a pic.

Search for the drawings I have created And posted here on the site. Personally have never needed any more than the steering column to dash ground. have you tested your headlight switch, dimmer!

Test with your meter from chassis to cluster. If you see 0 ohms or close to zero then look elsewhere.

Thanks for the info. Its not gonna stop me from enjoying that 1st ride but irritating. I appreciate the info and will dig in further.

I ran a ground wire from one of the screws that hold the circuit board down to frame ground.

The dash grounds through the attachment screws. The circuit boards ground to the metal cluster. If you are testing the cluster, you need to ground it for accurate results. The quick fix might be to add a ground wire.

  • Thanks for all the info. I pulled the dash and after a few turns on grounding screws and tightening tabs in the lite holders, 1 by 1 they all came back. Car sat since 84 and i did restore the look, gauge faces etc so its no wonder. There was not 1 thing that i didnt have to do less than 3 times on it so i figured tear it out and put it back in then wha laa! Car must be female. Lol.. thanks for all.

I put star washers under all the screws on the circuit board for a little more “bite” on the surfaces. Not necessary, but easy to do if you already have it out.

Glad you are up and running. One little ground is all. Star washer between dash and cluster is good. Looks like you had some serious and nice looking dash paint. It was simpler when they rolled off the line.
