WW2 Veteran's Records

The records lost in the 1973 fire were mainly those of Army and Air Force personnel, however a few Navy and Marine Corps personnel records which were temporarily in the affected area were also destroyed. Amongst them were some of my own records from first enlistment which were under review priour to my subsequent reenlistment.

When I looked up the reference links above, I was surprised to find that mention of the anti-war protestors who started this fire have apparently been scrubbed from official government accounts. Very odd. And troubling, as it was common knowledge at the time.

Hope this helps,
