My wife got a 7lb Prime Ribeye roast today. We almost always do one for Christmas dinner. Sometimes Turkey depending on family visits. We are alone this year so prime rib is the meal.
What do Y’all do?

Traditionally we have had a Harrington ham from Vermont. Was a tradition in my wife’s family.

This year my wife says she wants to make my Mother’s lasagna recipe but Im not sure she is actually going to follow through and there isn’t a ham in the fridge either.

I probably won’t know what we are having until Christmas Day...LOL!

It’s ok, I’m fine with anything as long as we sit down and enjoy it together.

Prime rib/Prime cut ..:) Baked Manicotti with twice baked potatoes, green beans and asparagus .. desert will be Pecan pie and Cassata cake and a ton of cookies.. Throw in a few appetizers before dinner..... oh lord loosen that belt. About 14 family members at our house this year. Cell phones checked at the door, my wife's rule. :)

Filet and homemade crab cakes on Christmas day for 68gtxman and his wife. Traditional turkey and ham on Saturday when the kids are coming in to celebrate Christmas.

Prime rib and Raviolis, some other minor stuff. Too much to list. 26 people.

Whatever my wife's rich uncle wants to serve us! We're going to his 'Fairway' house this year, as opposed to his 'Marina' house 3 years ago. Must be nice.....But I do know what were having Christmas morning, my French Toast casserole.

Today Pork butt slow cooked on the grill about 4 weeks ago with pecan wood and yellow rice with black beans was very good tonight! American chop suey tomorrow then off to see all the x-mas lights around!

Turkey this year.

We typically have ham at Christmas, but ended up going to my Aunt's house for Thanksgiving after my wife had already bought a turkey.

So... turkey this year for Christmas.

Ham this year, just the two of us, last few years we've had between 6 and 10 guests for dinner, usually turkey, ham, meatballs, mashed taters, cabbage rolls, salad, strawberries, watermelon, grapes, cantaloupe, cherries, oranges, and dinner rolls. I usually have leftovers for a week after. lol

Going to my sister's. Her idea of green bead casserole for instance is green beans straight outta the can with no seasoning heated up, dumped on a plate with the noodles just dumped on um. Thank God for Kitty. She'll make it all happen.

Oh my! Too much for me!

Is it that bad? Served with love I assume.

I keep saying it's too much every time we have dinner guests, but I'm overruled. We had invited 7 people 2 weeks ago, one couple had a medical emergency and couldn't make it, and we ended up giving the other folks huge bags of food to take home since we don't have the room in our fridge to keep it, and I doubt we'd have been able to eat it all in a week ourselves.

It's that bad.....and yes "I guess so". LOL We're takin Kitty's cranberry/orange salad chopped real fine, some of her southerned seasoned green beans, and "some kinda" sweet potato "thing" she's gonna whip up. That's where Kitty really shines. Just slappin **** together. lol It's gonna be good.

Amen. We went to my wife's sister's once. The food was SO HORRIBLE, I could barely choke it down. The turkey was cooked into submission, and everything else was right out of a can.

Pretty much described everything my sister cooks.

Who knows...my inlaws are all foreigners (so am I, but that's besides the point) so you never know what they will serve up

I think it's safe to say that at one point or another tomorrow, I'm gonna be reheating a can of beanless chili though

We had celebrations on the 22nd.
My wife put ham (yuk) on the table again, but respectfully, made some great meatballs for me.
Plus we had smashed to smithereens potatoes and some veggies. Then three kinds of desserts and Jello for the kids.
But I never got to the deserts until today, the 23rd. Yeah I said grace. But the abomination cannot be blessed, so we'll see who gets how sick.As for me, I managed not to overeat too badly, but oh-man, those meatballs were yum-yum good. So I fasted most of today; but oh-boy, those left-over meatballs have been calling all day.
The ham was a super big hit with my girls, even the left-overs on day-2. I gave my dog some leftover ham, because he hasn't been eating his regular food much, lately. He seemed to like it too. But it was hard for me to do that. Guess I'll have to take him to the vet on the 27th.....

A great Angus roast, with spuds, carrots onion, and mushrooms cooked for two hours, pink stuff and blueberry pie.

:) Well, we're in Texas. So of course we will have Christmas tamales with fajitas, rice, beans, guacamole, sweet potato pie, pecan pie and all the trimmings! Yum!!!

Feliz Navidad y'all......
