I have a Denso Alternator with the denso 3 wire plug.

The EZ wire has:
Alternator power
Alternator bypass (for use with alt over 80 amps)
Alternator Excitor wire

The Denso has three wires:
12V reference
12V Switched
Dash light or gauge (if used)

I will be using the bypass wire from: Alternator power stud -> starter wire

My question is can I used the Alternator power wire as my 12V refrence and the excitor wire for my 12V switched power?

Thanks in advance! I am getting closer, the rear of the car is done and I am getting closer to finishing up the underhood wiring, then its on to inside.

Uh, NO!!! LOL Is the Denso internally regulated? Surely there is an internet how to on hooking it up. Such alternators as off Rams or Dakotas are not, they have two field connections just like 70/ later Mopars

"The internet" shows all kinds of nonsense

Lol. Here is the plug, I have.
Denso Pigtail Harness for Denso 210-0106 Alternators

Here is the alternator I have. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00OBTWHAC/?tag=joeychgo-20

Blue is the sense wire and it goes to a 12V reference. Green is the 12V feed and it must come from a switched ignition source. Red goes to an indicator lamp. Most Mopar vehicles do not use an indicator so this line can be capped off.

I used the denso 60 210-0106 which is internally regulated. When I installed mine I ran the reference to the heavy wire off the battery at the starter relay. This ensures the alternator is compensating for any drops in the wiring. The wire for the light I removed completely from the plug. The switched wire if I remember correct I used the blue wire off the ballast resistor that would also supply the electric choke etc. Like the instructions here.

I don't have a ballast anymore. But you are confirming that I can use the alternator power wire for the 12v.
The 12v choke wire is a good idea for the switched wire.

Why don't you call E Z wire , if Sean is still there , he can answer about anything u can throw at him , I called him about 8-10 times !
Much preferred over internet suggestions , to me !

I will, it's just hard finding a time during the week. Maybe my lunch break. I did send them an email.

Is the wiring harness installed? If so then use a volt meter to figure it out. You need a 12 volt reference and a 12 volt switched. If the harness isn't installed then look at the wiring schematic to see where you get a 12 volt source and a 12 volt switched. The switched wire should be from the run post of the key. You don't need alternator power when cranking or in the acc position.

It's not all the way installed. I am sure the ALT power wire can be my 12v ref. And th excitor wire, I'll have to see if that's keyed power.

Lunch was a bad time to call for me , he eats lunch too------------
Emails were not good for me either ! I`m about as far from an automotive electrician as there is , he helped me immensely .
The only thing Ive seen after about 5ish yrs of running, is the engine will not die if I turn past off to the acc. position when killing it . ----??? not a problem , but weired .

He's in Florida, I'm in Oregon so 3 hours difference. I actually just got through! Lol.

He said excitor wire is 12v switched and the 12v ref can just be looped back to the alt stud (makes sense)

I'm sure I will have more questions, when it comes to wiring the ign switch, HL switch, etc. But this about wraps the under hood.
