EZ Wiring Alternator Wiring (Denso)

I have a Denso Alternator with the denso 3 wire plug.

The EZ wire has:
Alternator power
Alternator bypass (for use with alt over 80 amps)
Alternator Excitor wire

The Denso has three wires:
12V reference
12V Switched
Dash light or gauge (if used)

I will be using the bypass wire from: Alternator power stud -> starter wire

My question is can I used the Alternator power wire as my 12V refrence and the excitor wire for my 12V switched power?

Thanks in advance! I am getting closer, the rear of the car is done and I am getting closer to finishing up the underhood wiring, then its on to inside.

Is the wiring harness installed? If so then use a volt meter to figure it out. You need a 12 volt reference and a 12 volt switched. If the harness isn't installed then look at the wiring schematic to see where you get a 12 volt source and a 12 volt switched. The switched wire should be from the run post of the key. You don't need alternator power when cranking or in the acc position.
