Do you mean this last truck that I got? With the little hole in the floorboard? LOL the cracked steering wheel, the rearview mirror that you can't see out of, the driver's door that wouldn't open from the outside with the window that wouldn't go up and down? With the U joints that are 100% shot along with the carrier bearing? the motor that had a quart and a half of oil in it because all of the rest of it was on the outside from all the leaks? The carburetor that was completely toast and would barely run?... no not as much as he paid for his and I'm thankful I didn't have to bring it home on a trailer.. and quite honestly shocked it made it home with the U-joints that it had and the way it was running... I bought mine at a total Fixer Upper price... You can take your guess..
I can tell you once it's been through it total mechanical restoration it's going to be north of 4K or I'll drive it till it is worth 4K.. or more.. the last thing I'm going to do is sink hundreds and hundreds, over thousands of dollars in it and put that much of hard work into it to give it away to somebody who's going to drive it for 5 years and double their money...

you are doing a wonderful job with the truck. Actually, it's risky to put so much work into a truck you are going to flip, it makes the margin of profit slimmer and harder to get. But keep up the good work :)

I totally bought it as a project truck at a project price. I didn't even go into the busted power steering box that I had to replace and many other things.. that's why I'm saying I'll be happy to drive it for some time because it will be good and dependable for the years to come after I'm done with it.. I'll get my price or enjoy it. And then get my price LOL.. I'm not going to ask anything outrageous but very comfortable to its condition or it's new conditio...

I wouldn't be calling it rust free until he pulls up that rubber mat off the floor board...
but if the rest is clean and solid, the floor boards are a minor thing if you like the truck.

I picked the truck up in Suffolk, VA on Monday. I'm very happy with it. It has a 12/20 VA inspection sticker on it. It fires right up and sounds good. Body and frame are very solid. I was very lucky to find a one owner truck with 48,000 on it. It has a leaky power steering box, an oily pan and transmission, and a rusty floor. j par was right.

Get the $24 ones from current to Classic..
Obviously don't cut anything out till you get the new ones because you'll need part of that Center hump which is not rested.. also you'll do yourself a great Justice by getting new door seals which if you buy quality ones have the glue inside them and it's just basically press them on and you'll stop getting water coming in.. and doing yourself one more favor would be to order a carpet kit for and not put rubber mats back in..

Hopefully within the next month I'll have my truck up and running and be going an hour and a half South down to the guy's house that has all the parts and I will see what he has for you... Best you shoot me a p.m. So I can be able to contact you and not lose this thread by that time...

Nice truck. 2 wheel drive unfortunately, but pretty clean no less. I’m in the market for a w200 pre smog. Would like to make a pull truck.

I also prefer the power wagons myself. Most trucks of any brand didn't have any smog control till after 79. That's why Dodge came out with the image trucks the Macho the little red express trying to duck around that.. personally I prefer a 72 to 76 or even a 76 with a 72 73 Grill... Not a big fan of the 77 and up grills... I don't know what your local and state laws are but here in Oregon and I'm sure where my son is at in Colorado anyting 74 and older does not have to get a smog test..
Something to keep in mind on anything you want to hop up here or there...

again while I talk about the door seals and carpet you'll notice that the undercoating is probably still good and those are rusted from the inside.. all of the bracing and so forth is all galvanized just like the inner Fender wells don't get rusty either...

Oh boy I just looked California you're screwed! LOL..

Yea ‘75 is the last year for no smog. I have a line on a 74 w200 with a 360 and 4 speed granny low. What is that, the sm465? Hoping to pick it up next month when I have the cash, if it’s still available. It’s rough, but would make a nice mud truck. I’d probably throw my stroker smallblock in there if that transmission can take the power of it. I don’t know how strong they are, or what they are.

I don't think any truck transmission is going to suffer from your Stroker...

If you weren't across country I have a 77 Powerwagon I started a resto on years ago to turn it into a service truck but found a 2001 Cummins for service truck. The 77 was my farm truck and hauled tons of catfish and hay and only has 68,000 miles. Just turned 71 yo today and doubt I ever finish this project but was my favorite pulling truck, Joe

This is my fourth truck that I've almost completely disassembled in the last 2 years so there isn't much I haven't seen..
I am looking at door seal kits from several manufacturers. Do you have a preference? Thanks.

I can't remember which one's I used on my son's truck but I remember they were about fifty bucks for the pair. Ironically I'm looking for them as well and should be purchasing door seals and a carpet kit next weekend which will be my final order.. I remember using contact cement and then noticing that the kind of got already had a glue in the seem that Clips onto the pinch.. if you find something good let me know and I will do the same..

So I'm going to go up and order the set from AutoZone.. I asked specifically if there is a pair and not just one and they couldn't answer but as you can see under specifications they're claiming this is a pair. I also asked if I pay for them and they get there and they're not a pair will they refund my money and they said yes.
We'll see....
I punched in the numbers on Google and places like Jegs sell them for $48.99 each and the prices go up from there...

also I'm pretty sure these are the ones with the glue already in the channel so it's just press-fit and trim to size... As I remember they give you a few inches of extra and you want to really compress it as much as possible and even trimming it long and bringing two pieces up and pushing them together to compress it even more so it doesn't shrink over time in Fallout....
