Dash speaker solution.
Thought I would share a quick fix for replacing the dash speaker with a good and cost effective alternative.
Picked up a Boss 4x10 140w model number BRS410 speaker off the internet for $24 and came up with a way to mount it that only takes about 30 minutes worth of mods.
Included are pictures for reference
Using the original speaker as a mounting bracket, cut along the inside lip of the speaker and discard the center.
Place layer of foam on lip of new speaker to avoid metal to metal vibrations. I used some leftover foam from the heater box rebuild.
Place new mounting ring made from old speaker over foam and new speaker and install.
The new unit fits nicely and still has clearance.
