What brand of spark plugs have you had luck with

I want to know what temperature range your Iridiums are and how much compression your running. I can almost guarantee there's some spark knock happening somewhere.

I have Autolite Platinums in Gladys. They've been in now over three years and still run just as good as when I put them in.

I have never bought spark plugs since 1965. That's when I discovered lifetime J.C. Whitney "fire injectors"

liquid cool 4 stroke Autolite. Air cooled 4 stroke or any 2 stroke NGK. Methanol NGK or autolite race plugs. Champions suck. never had all 8 straps burn equal. And never follows the same cyl.

I was ok with champions for a long time. Until i had a couple occasions where the centre electrode broke. Shorted plug. Where they both got me was i did as i always do. Remove plug, and hold it up in the light to look at it. How do you hold up a plug?
Grab it by porcelain and with ground strap up to inspect. The electrode looks normal. Two times. No more champion. Ever. Unless they are free.

ngk is fine,as any other plug but champion.

The specified plugs for my old '69 340 Swinger back in the very early '70s were Champion N9Y, but I could never get them to live as long or perform as well as the equivalent Autolite plug. I've used Autolites ever since.

I quit using Champion back in the late 80's when I got three dead ones right out of the box. I switched to Autolites after that and I have not had a problem. That said, I use NGK in my all my rides now.

Ive used all of them....Autolite, Champion, Motorcraft, AC, Denso, NGK... never an issue except when I worked at the Ford store. We had many customers come in complaining of a rough idle and poor driveability. Every car had Champion plugs...a switch to Motorcraft fixed the problems.

True Story. I put autolites in a '90 Dodge Caravan. Tried to drive it around the block, and barely made it back. Put champions back in it, ran like new again. Everyone has a story. Our mopar's came with Champions for years and years. Do they work best in Fords or Chivy's? I don't know and I don't care. Over 30 years and approximately 50 small block mopars alone, not one failure due to a champion plug. My ole Ram 5.9 is over 270,*** miles, still running Champions, and I put the last set in about 50K miles ago. This is about like what oil is the best....

Well, it is cold outside.

I didn't ask to argue but just to see what everyone else is using.

I am going to try some NGKs next.

1972 slant six with a million miles, original engine to my 72 demon.

For some odd reason the engine doesn't like champion anymore.

I tried the Auto LITES and the spark actually seems stronger and runs better.

One size does not fit all but its interesting to pick up bits and pieces from others. imo

correct. I think Autolites are a great plug. NGK as well.
