I have an old set of TRW dome pistons # L2293, can anybody identify them? What compression would they make with a stock 906 head with 0.10 shaved off. Cc`s unknown. What cam/valve lift could be used with them? I`m thinking of using them if I can get more information about them. This may be too much work for anybody but any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I have the same set of pistons. They are rated at 12.5:1 with a closed chamber head and 11.8:1 with an open. The tops can not be machined to reduce the compression....My solution Edelbrock heads, the Aluminum allows for more compression before detination becomes an issue. That number is for a 30 over 383. Trw makes a domed 440 piston that is similar L2295 if memory serves.

Funny ....a Google search on that part number got me to this sight, I had to register to reply, but I am a B Body guy...I hope taht I don't get too much abuse on an A body ONLY forum...LOL :

I have a set of these pistons but one of them has a broken rod connecter but the piston is fine.I also have the 383 30/over block that they came out ofand i will sell or trade for reasonble deal.(motor had 13.5to1 compression and ran mid 11s in a qtr. in a 69 bird.

Probably a long shot but do you still have these pistons. I am in need of one. Thanks in advance.

I just found this old string. Did you still need 1 piston moparpalm360? I bought 2 of these sets years ago. One of them standard bore and one of them .030 oversize. One of the sets came with a bonus piston that didn't have a wrist pin, locks or rings. I believe it was the .030 set. If you still need it, let me know and I'll get out to the shop and confirm which one it is.

I am putting a 383 together now with these pistons, what cam lifts should i not go over, they dont have valve releifs i am a little worried about piston to valve clearance

There’s a thread over on Moparts. Just go there and type in L2293 in the search box.
