Tranny troubles

My tranny is starting to show it's age. I have had it in the car for 10 years and behind the 6-71 for the last 5 or so. I noticed last summer that it was not quite as crisp on the shifts, (read soggy). So I am going to address it this winter. I am thinking either have it rebuilt or totally replaced and also replace the cheap converter. I have a B&M that has a stall of 2800 behind a NA engine but who knows what it is behind the blower. It needs to be rebuilt and if I have that done I would have them put an anti ballooning plate on it. Or buy a new one meant for a blower.

Back to the tranny. I suspect that to have my current one rebuilt is going to cost me as much as a new one but only a visit to a tranny shop will tell me that for sure. I'm guessing in the $2000 range. If I go with a new tranny I am thinking of something like this. TCI Competition Transmissions 112100 My setup is a 340 6-71 setup with an estimated 650 to 700 hp. It's never been on a dyno so I don't know for sure. Rear gears are 3.23's. This is a street car that I have fun with and will probably never be on a track.

Any suggestions?
