it is the Hughes kit has bigmouth ported heads from Hughes ,1.6 roller rockers and lifters now running a ported Air Gap but it runs out of breath at 5500 rpm 530hp 560 tq at 4400 I want an intake that will peak at 6500 or a touch more so I think the Victor is to much I will never run 7000+ . what is the best intake for this combo M-1, six pac or Torker ?
Thanks

Well I have a ported Victor 340 on my 408 stroker. Hughes built the short block, and did the stage 3 ported Eddy Heads. The cam is a hydraulic roller 256/258 duration @.050 and 576/576 lift with Hughes 1.6 roller rockers. I don’t know what the installed centerline is.

I think the victor manifold will serve you well.

The victor acts a lot smaller when your feeding 426 cubes. Super Victor, M1 single plane, or Holley Strip Dominator for standard ports will improve the performance across the board.

if your air gap runs out of steam at 5500 rpm, you have other problems to worry about.
i had a air gap on a 410'' years ago. 6700 rpm all day long. a friend has a air gap on his 340'' and he is at 6800 rpm.

Super Victor...

Intended use, drag race only? Or prostreet? If you are using a Dominator carb, I would try the square bore M-1 or Victor and use the carb adapter to get up to the Dominator. Signal will be better and should have no issue screaming into the upper limits.

Need I say more. Lol

Exactly. Unless he has the new TF intake I have no idea what he's using. Unless he welds them up or does what 12many did.
I read a post long ago about making the M1 flange square, by welding etc working on the runner roofs into the carb flange opening and seeing a 15 or so hp increase, I’m thinking it was yours? If so, Was there more work done down streamor were the results from just the flange/roofs?

No doubt the STR-12 would still be a bear to tune but I would see a 426 incher with at least decent heads making good use of one. To me, that size of small block is where I would be looking at an Eddy TR-5 or M1 tunnel ram. Once I start thinking of this size motor, I start thinking 48 degree blocks and things way beyond my means, lol!

Super Vic on mine, still building the exhaust for the set up but have a 428 stroker or 427.5 lol

You guy running roller rockers really need to budget b3's kit and get your geometry righwen you want to push thta many revs- 3/8 pushrods and some block grinding next time you have it apart
I go cup adjusters and hollow pushrods to ensure they get lubed
ask b3

Mike at B3 is super knowledgeable, and his spacers did a great job of correcting my w2 valve train geometry.
I went with a Trend .105 wall pushrod in 5/16
