Hello everybody, I have a question about a front turn signal (passenger side) that is semi functioning. It will work when I signal right and flash when I turn the on the hazards, all with the headlight switch off but when the headlights are on it will not signal right and will only dimly flash when i turn on the hazards. The flashers are new and the electrical wiring as far as I know is all original to the car. I've tried cleaning the socket and replacing the bulb. Before I start throwing new parts at it and trying other things I just want to get input and try to figure out what the problem is and possible solutions.

thanks

How is it grounded? I am suspicious of a bad ground.

That wire has been repaired in the past. This may seem silly, but run a jumper wire from the light housing to another good ground on the body/frame of the car. Does light work now? Check light bulb- it should have two filaments in it with two contacts on the bottom. It should have two offset locating pins. When installed, do the contacts on the bulb line up with the contacts in the socket? Lets check basics before we move on. Good luck.

So I just tried that and i am still getting the same result. Also I forgot to mention that when the headlight switch is on and the right turn signal is on the rear passenger turn signal also does not blink. It comes on but does not blink.
And also here are pictures of the contacts of both front signals.

Still seems like grounding, to me, and might be "right in" the sockets. Do some searching, and try to find a drill driven wire brush that either will fit, or can be cut down to fit into the sockets. you might be able to take a coin, (power off!!) and fit down into the socket to protect the terminals, or you might have to "unwire" the socket, but get a wire brush down in them and buff them clean

alright so i did all of that, replaced the ground wire, cleaned the area where it's grounded some more and jiggled the socket a bit and it seemed to have to started working. I'm thinking maybe something wasn't seated right or something
