Choice of wheels

A lot of the personal looks preference has to do with getting used to the way big
wheels look, kind of like girls with tatoo's. The short sidewalls do suck for rough potholed roads.

Putting a tattoo on a girl is the best way to make her look trashy and unattractive
I guess wagon wheels on mopars do the exact same

Potholed roads suck regardless. And if your short sidewalls make the potholes more noticeable, it's your suspension, not the sidewalls, that's the issue.

Nothing worse then a whole sleeve of tattoos on an otherwise attractive woman. Looks like an act of vandalism and graffiti.

Nothing worse than a couple of judgemental A-holes that force their idea of beauty on other people. That's the worst. If an attractive woman wants to be tattooed, good for her. If she doesn't, good for her. None of your business either way.

And when did this thread become about horribly outdated views of women?

I don't think that's what they are saying. There is nothing outdated about what someone prefers or finds attractive. It's about their personal preference, just like wheels, paint color choices, etc. I agree with them, I'm not a fan of women who are tatted up. That's just my taste just as I prefer brunettes over blonds. Whatever. That said, I completely agree with you about wheels but, again, that is just my opinion and/or preference!

don't like big wheels then don't buy them. personally i like the look of 17-8" wheels on our old cars. depending on the build even bigger looks good but they have to go with the build.. nothing is worse looking then a tiny 14" rim/tire on these cars. they just look out of place being so small. even a 15" on a b body is too tine looking.

i'm at the point that i can't stand rally wheels.. too tiny and ugly in my opinion. too balloonish of sidewalls... looking at the older pics of my car i can't believe i ever even put the damn things on the car to begin with. car looks a thousand times better with the 17" wheels. if i knew better at the time i'd have gone with 18" wheels and tires..

I think the old rust bucket looked good either way. What's different with you is, you actually have GOOD TASTE and know how to choose a wheel and tire combo that compliments the car. A lot of people do not. I must admit in your case, I actually think I like the bigger wheels better........but that's pretty rare with me.

But you're right as rain. "Whatever" wheel you choose, it needs to fit the style of the car.

Ride quality is only worse with big wheels if you haven't bothered to upgrade the rest your suspension. Run a decent set of shocks and the shorter sidewalls aren't a problem. That way you don't have a big old set of floppy sidewalls doing the work your shocks should be doing.

Wheels and tires are part of the entire suspension system. Upgrade everything and match it all to work together and there's no problem. Slap some 'dubs on an otherwise stock car and you're going to have some issues.

Agree with you 100%!!!

14's just look goofy. And rallye's are the ugliest wheel you can put on these cars. I don't understand why anyone likes those things, in any size.

Agree w/ the 14 and rallies--
Being an old hotrodder , did any if you ever see a really hi horsepower car on the dragstrip w/ skinney side wall tires ? 18-22" ? NOT !

I will run 14" and 15" rims and tires on my classic cars until I cant physically get them anymore. I do not like the way larger wheels look on the older cars. To me, the proportions don't look right.
