ET'S with ported J/or other iron heads SB

-
I was at the Mid South nationals in the 90s
We drove a Plum Crazy 70 340 Duster to it.
I had a press pass, so all 4 of us got in.
A 73 340 duster had in Stock eliminator made it to Sunday against the field.
2 Pyroil sponsored Black 1st gen Camaros, didn’t remember who else, as these guys were in the finals.
When we left going home we passed there @$$ 10 miles down the road, honking as the Duster wore them out to the end, we reminded them in another 340 Duster.
Good times.

Not sure but i think it was 7.70
Pretty quick. People don’t realize.
I remember the 7.70 days on a 245/6015 M&H race masters dot junkers.
Picked up 2-3 tenths with a bigger tire, nothing else. Still spun. J heads they were water sprinklers.

@yellow rose

LOL, thanks again (in remembrance) for the offer, but i currently have a blockage..... that would be .....
A still get un ported set of W2’s & W5’s waiting for me to finish up the wife’s heads and my personal use 360/6pack engine for my E body as well as the 340 for 1 of the Dusters.

Yup! Chock full of **** to squeeze out and constipated, (AKA running behind.) Oh! Then there is the joy of my son going to collage next year... wooooooooo!!!!!!!!
At least he is the last one. I paid a lotta cash out to the schooling for 3! I can only imagine the bitchen car(s) I could have had with the huge soles of money laid out!
LAMO!!!

At least there WELL educated and they WON’T be back in the house!
And that is GOLD in the bank!

LOL. My kid just turned 18 Tuesday and he's starting college in the fall. He has some family in Hungary that's literally dying to see him so his mom and I are hoping he will go spend 6-8 weeks over there this summer before he starts school in the fall.

So yup, getting caught up is a full time job.

If you can go out of country, run baby run and enjoy!
But hell yea catching up is a ***** never mind I’m about to add ballast to the debt.... again....
But collage is a worthy expenditure.

The clutch is key....... but even when what he was running for a clutch was clearly not optimum for the car....... it was still pretty quick for what it was.

3650lb GTO, Pontiac 400 Stocker build, 4 speed......11.30’s in F/S...... 20 or so years ago.

That car never had the clutch situation figured out.
That didn’t happen until he was a few years into the Firebird.
What did he figure out with the clutch?..

I currently have “Bracket Betty” back in the car... she slightly abused and will often sit in the shop 4-6 years at a time until we need her put into action. Born of a cheap claimer build for a friends dirt track modified my dad ended up purchasing it for the Duster in the late 90’s. So far it’s run a best of 10.8 in Vegas. Milodon low pro pan, Eagle crank due to finding cracks in the stock cast crank, stock caps and rods, KB pistons, 360 block, MP iron heads with 1.96 I and 1.6 E valves, crane ductile iron non roller rocker arms, ultradyne solid cam 256@.0.50–547 I / 554 E, Victor 340 intake, Barry Grant 750 Holley museum piece carburetor.

Obviously.

That’s why you’re changing the heads and carbs.
LOL you truly are a guru you have your followers LOL my two biggest haters liking your post...
yes very comfortable with my car and not expecting to set the world on fire with these minor changes.. they're obviously more for show than go.. and yes I'm very comfortable doing the work myself putting them on and adjusting them...
The car always has been Street/strip/show ... Sometimes more of one than the other but capable of doing it all.. put in place for my fun entertainment and hobby...

my old spit wad classroom scenario... LOL

their spit wads back and forth with your friends and then there's the guy who only spits spit Wads and is not your friend...
Some people just have spit wods only...
I don't want anyone's spit on me, I don't care if they are my friend!!! :D

This calls for the old paper clip and rubber band. Heck with the spit wads.

I forgot about the bobby pin. We used the paperclips on frogs .
