Hi All,
I just picked up an inland shifter mechanism and linkages to use for the 4 speed setup I'm piecing together and it seems like the spring that centers the shifter to its resting place is absent. Does anyone know where to get a new spring? Also, I've only driven 3 and 5 speeds before, where does the shifter rest when the spring is in place? Does it rest in the 1-2 gate or the 3-4 gate?

Also, dont tell me I need to replace the inland for a hurst unit unless you plan on giving me one.

A wanted thread would be a great place to start.

Is it a specific piece? I was hoping a generic off the shelf spring might work. But sadly I have no clue what the spring looks like, where it goes or anything else about it

Come on somebody knows about these things. I know these things are the redhead stepchild of mopar shifters but surely somebody here has done a factory restoration involving an inland shifter.

I've pulled mine off of the transmission and was about to take it apart when I noticed this recessed cavity on the piece that moves with the shifter handle. It looks like a spring may go between here and the side of the shifter body/frame. It would theoretically hold the shifter handle in the 3-4 gate.

Anyone know how stiff a shifter spring would be? Seems like you would want something fairly stout to overcome the leverage of the shifter handle.
