Why is this so dang hard?

Let's see...you have indoor space available to do this...all the bits n pieces to do it...and assistance if required...
Tell me again why this isn't done already?:poke:
Hmmmmm?:mob:

as far as I know he's probably seeking medical attention for od'ing on the blue pill..:poke:...:D..
What a way to go...

Well, not going to assume anything...yet:rolleyes::D

He's an industrious fellow, so it cant be lazyness:poke:

Might be an aging thing...ya know, forgetfulness:p

Or could be the cold weather :)

But I'm just guessing...

dart rear is sitting in a cart near the door in my storage building. all i have to do is wheel it into shop, clean it and assemble it with new seals and brake parts. I dont need it so im not in a panic to get it done. 2 years now.
i know i will need it next summer so i should get on with it.

I need that "Swift kick in the ***" my Dad used to threaten me with when I was a kid I guess.
I'm familiar with that motivational technique...
How about a bit of internet shaming?
Close as I can get ...for the time being...:D

I have finally gotten old enough that I have a legit excuse. I hurt. all over. I've taken a couple of falls, years apart, and severely damaged both shoulders, broke some ribs last year, and as it turns out, "that ain't over with", and now my back. Much worse, and almost every day. And this is on top of the "systemic" problems I have which leave me with joint pain in general. But I'm lucky to be alive. I'm 20 years older now than either one Gramma or one sister was when they died, and I've just outlived my father in years. Most people in my shape would just sit down and play cards. I hate cards.

Why is it so hard to fix something that isn't broke?
I have a "uni ped" 7.25 rear end with 2:73 gears behind a mildish 5.9 Magnum and 42RH overdrive trans in my Dart and have driven it thousands of miles with zero issues for years now.
I could literally stop at the gas station, fill up and take off out of state without so much as even opening the hood to check anything, it's that reliable.
Right now there is a 8.25 Sure Grip with 3:55 gears and disc brakes, full of fluid with the additive sitting on jack stands in my back yard ready to go in and I have everything to do the swap.

Why am I hesitating?:realcrazy:
It's just that hard to take something apart that already works I guess.

I could use the excuses, "It's a holiday season" or "It's 45 degrees" or any other excuse, but that's all they are.
We have 3 other cars I could drive while mine is being done, and a buddy has a garage and has offered to help.

You've ran the reliable

I've had the Ford 400 built to replace Gladys' 351M for a good two years. It's stuffed under the work bench in the shop. Nice, hot 400 that's gonna sound really good and have lots of balls of bottom end torque with that 4" stroke. The 351 runs so good I still cannot bring myself to do it.
How do you pickle your build so it won’t have any problems?

Hang in there ole timer!! We still love you!!!

Back it down a driveway and do a neutral drop into D at about 3K while its still rolling backwards. It took all of that 340 and 10" tires to grenade my 7.25 SG. That may have hurt an 8.25.

Make sure you have studded snows on The trans bellhousing may crack and the trans will be held on with only one bolt. Oh that was on a Chevy.

Ever use that oil filter relocation kit you bought from me? :poke:

I'm not any better, I can't seem to keep anything off my Dart long enough to work on it. :BangHead: Although, I did swap axles two years ago, swapped out the 4.10's for 3.23's. Now I need to work on the rest of said car.

You must be thinking of someone else, as I have never had or used a relocation kit.
