So I know I was on the wing nut kick before but I bought a TQ carb last summer and it came with a wing nut that is just the cutest.

Everywhere i look for wing nuts, it shows a smaller one that I suspect is the correct one for 70 and back avs and fab carbs. I suspect TQs got a larger base wing nut like this one:

Anyone know a source for re pops like this. I am thinking it looks similar but not exact to ones found on 70s GMs

Looks like the wing nuts I got from classic industries, they are reproductions of the original Chrysler wing nuts, I ordered 2 for my oval air cleaner.

Here's one from a different angle, they look close to the one you have, may not be quite as big though, I can take a closer picture tomorrow.

Looks like the ears on yours is flatter, must be from a lean burn system thermoquad, I think they used a bigger nut like that one.

Yep, you were right, looks like the lean burn system thermoquad got the large wingnuts, I found this picture of one on the net, looks just like yours.

I've had a couple 340's with thermoquad's, a 72 and a 73 and best I can remember they were same as a AVS, that bigger wingnut probably came out in 77 on the lean burn, you may find one on a volare or aspen in a salvage yard.

Ah the simple pleasures in life that one can derive from an ages old design but extremely practical fastener.

I'd started redoing my 69' about five years ago but it got shelved when my Mom had ever increasing needs due to her age. Getting back on the project recently it was driving me nuts that I couldn't find the Moroso WINGNUT to the Moroso Air cleaner and then one day just like that and all of a sudden, I spied it hanging right there on one of the valve cover hold downs.....Ooooooooooo Happy face!

To members in the other branches of military service, the Air Force people are "wing nuts" lol
Well, back in my day, we were.

I clicked on this thinking you were referring to everyone on here in general. :)
