Unbelievable. *crybaby alert.

I served over 26 years in the Army, all with combat arms, most of which was in Special Operations (as an operator), I draw 50% disability and it has never once occurred to me to try and get a DV plate or placard or any of that nonsense because all of my limbs work, i can walk AND chew gum at the same time. I have a lot of love for my fellow vets, but what I see happening with the disability crap is out of control. If you served your country and were injured or harmed (which pretty much anyone in combat arms or any of the real physical jobs will be), then fine get your disability but this has become a complete "entitlement" issue. I could go on for hours about some of the people I have met that are drawing 70 - 100% for absolutely nothing tangible. But, that is on them and I do not deal with them or anyone like them. There is a very fine line between doing what is right for the vet and just giving away free money/benefits.

I was once talking to a very good friend of mine and 3 war veteran (WWII, Korea and VN) and he was telling me some war stories. I asked him if he had received any purple hearts figuring all the **** he went through (was an Airborne Infantryman then a Special Forces soldier) and he laughed and said, "during my time no one wanted a purple heart, it meant you screwed up and was seen as a stain on your character"... Not at all disparaging those who received the PH but I find the contrast to today stark wherein so many want not only the awards but go well out of their way to exploit them.

I will not even comment on the posers, there is a special place in hell for them.
