A-Body automatic counsel to 4- speed conversion

Working on a 69 GTS and wondering if anyone attempted to convert an automatic counsel to a 4 speed and if so are the top plates for either interchangeable with the counsel body, I understand the original 4-speed model has a notch near the bottom for fitting up to the 4-speed tunnel, I would like to know if anyone has attempted this conversion before I purchase the new top plates.

Well Mike, I think what Famous Bob was counseling you on, was that there are many topics on that subject here. The search function needs good input.
