Cam grinder/manufacturer opinions

The best thing you can do is get on the phone and actually TALK to these people. Buy your cam from the dude you get on with best. I've found that's it's much more important that the cam grinder and I are on the same page, than who's name ends up on the box.

That said I'll say to call as many as you can deal with, take notes and base your descison on who you are most comfortable with.

Jim at Racer Brown is a bit hard to get on the phone, but you are talking to the guy who'll grind the cam.

Same deal with Mike Jones.

I have used and loved every single cam I got from Cam Motion, and that's well over 150 cams. Never had one do not exactly what I wanted.

Again, the best you can do is get on the phone and TALK to them. I don't care what the youngins think about email and text, but to me, when you are doing important stuff like this, you need to have a conversation, and you can't do that with an email or an idiotic text. The flow of a conversation with actual voices will almost always take a different track than any other method will get you. IMO, you can't have a CONVERSATION other than on the phone or face to face. Sadly, that is almost a lost art these days.
