I am now getting the interior of my 65 Valiant Convert. done and it had ashtrays in the door pulls and in the rear arm rest areas. Does anyone know where I could find these? I have found them for other years but not mine.

Almost makes me get back on the replacement idea for my armrest pads. (everything is almost ready to go ) just lack of money for new test materials.

You might have some luck by starting a wanted ad.

The door arm rests did not have ash trays. As the front arm rests worn out a plentiful (cheap) replacement was the rear arm rests with ash trays.
The early A convertible ash trays in the rear side panels have been hard to find in good shape. I think I saw some repro ones on eBay.

That is interesting. Years ago I had a 63 Chevy ll convertable and when I tried to order the arm rests with ashtrays I ran into the same thing.

Assumihg the 65 is the same as my 64 (not a Signet)....As already mentioned, no ash trays in front arm rests. Just the one in the middle of the dash. The "correct" front arm rest bases are reproduced as are the pads. There are longer B-body bases and pads that wrap around the door release handle. Maybe a Signet got the bigger ones?
My car came without the driver side, only with the passenger side and the plastic base soon just crumbled. There are ash trays in the rear though.

Remembering that a Valiant was basically an economy car competing against Falcons, Corvairs, etc., they didn't have a lot of deluxe features that would raise the MSRP.
Maybe they figured a convertible driver would just flick the ashes out into the windstream.
