Removing them is never the issue
But even with the tool you mentioned it leaves a "unfinished" pipe, that once again requires soldering
And I dont trust my soldering enoug, and i dont want a leak in a cabinet where i wont notice it untill it's too late
If I can do it, you surely can. I'm the last person on the planet who should be able to do stuff like this and i have done the solder sweat pipes before ...
