Clifford Headers for a 225?

Anyone with experience with these? I thought Dutra Duals were about the only option besides the stock manifold.

I debated on commenting here, about this, but I looked at these some 30 years ago. Back then I placed an order and I got a notice that when they get enough orders they'll make them. I canceled the order. I have to make a decision too. I'm leaning towards having a pair of Dutra duals made. Don't know who or how, but I wouldn't put a Clifford product on my car.

Larry at Clifford is a good dude, and knows his **** about hot rodding six cylinders. Dude spent a good minute talking to me, didnt even wanna sell me anything just telling me which way to go in my build.

Heres a comment from a recent buyer from Clifford

Don't believe what you hear on the internet, I ordered a slant six dual carb set up and headers. Everything came FASTER than expected and he answered my calls all the time for stupid questions.

Say...how about that exhaust bend one has to deal with at the starter? Looks pretty gnarly.

Naw. Clifford USED to make a few different types. Now all they make are the shorties. They made a 6 into 1 long tube style and a dual 3 into 2 years ago but now only the shorties. They went up from 349 to 399 just this year.
Any reason the $90 exhaust manifolds back on eBay say they won’t fit pre70’s slants?

As far as I know, all slant six exhaust manifolds interchange. There are some differences in the choke stove, but all of them interchange, to the best of my knowledge.

That’s what I thought too. Maybe it’s the choke stove issue that is making the fitment search say no. Hard to pass up at $89!

Specially when people around here want 100 bucks just to ship one. That one is 89 and free shipping.

These are the Aussie speed headers I have on my 66 Valiant with a 170. They are also supposed to fit with the 225 but I haven't tried them, yet. I sent Aussiespeed a used set of Cliffords for the 170, and a new set of Cliffords for the 225 to copy, several years ago. They made a single set that is supposed to fit either engine. I was mainly interested in the fit for a 170, as The only existing header for the 66 older "A" bodies was the Clifford "shorty" and it hits the steering box with a 170.

I have Clifford shorties on my 64 valiant. Goes to single 2.5” to black widow muffler. Sounds angry to me.

You look like you have a lot more clearance on the manual steering pump than me, probably time for me to get some new motor mounts. Yeah I got two 2in pipes from the collector 6 feet connecting to flow master y pipe 2.5 exit.

Did you have to wait long to get the headers after ordering?
I ordered two parts right before thanksgiving got them in a week and a half. Got an invoice, got notified when they shipped with tracking. No problems.
