But even with the tool you mentioned it leaves a "unfinished" pipe, that once again requires soldering
And I dont trust my soldering enoug, and i dont want a leak in a cabinet where i wont notice it untill it's too late
This ^^^, those shark bites work very well. I just used 2 of them here for pretty much the same thing you are doing. You would need 2 of them obviously, cut the pipe, slide the shark bite on and screw the valve to it....done.
