two simple plumbing questions

They have shut off valves that have a compression fitting instead of the solder on type. Just make sure you have enough pipe sticking out of the wall to work with.

...and therein lies the problem on a LOT of the valves I've worked on.

Some are right up against the block and I've had to chisel the block away to get enough room to get a new valve on.

That SUCKS!
