tunnel ram and 750 eddys

Man! oldkimmer has always got the best stuff... the two words that drive me to say another Holley 850 are race and car. Two Holleys with four corner idling and adjustable air bleeds is as good as you can do here. No power valves required, block them off step up 10 jet sizes to tune from.

I'd leave the power valves in there. Tuned correctly, the PV allows you to not only drop the 10 or so jet sizes but to drop even more jets sizes depending on the power valve channel restriction sizes.

You cruise on the main jets and set WOT A/F ratio with the PVCR. If you just block the PV off and add more jet, all you did was make it pig fat at a cruise so your not lean at WOT.

The power valves work. If they are tuned correctly. And piss on Holley and all the moronic book writers who have been teaching power timing and tuning for decades. Many a Holley has been scrapped because people don't understand how they work.
